The Kalamazoo Promise began in 2005 with a group of anonymous donors pledging to provide scholarships to all Kalamazoo Public School graduates in perpetuity. KPS graduates who have been enrolled for at least all 4 years of HS are eligible. Depending on length of enrollment, 65% to 100% of tuition and fees are covered. The Promise can be used at any accredited public colleges and universities in Michigan, 15 private colleges, and the Michigan Career and Technical Institute.
