Rising Star provides qualified high school graduates with academic support services and up to $5,500 (or up to 3 years) for tuition and books, if you have established financial need. The DCCCD Foundation created the Rising Star Program because we believe everyone should have a chance to realize the American dream. We also believe that a college education through the colleges of DCCCD is an excellent first step toward achieving that goal. Recognizing that some people truly lack the personal finances needed for college — even the affordable rates offered by the colleges — the Foundation established the Rising Star Scholars Program in 1999. The above information is taken from the Program’s website.
