With the expressed goals of increasing educational achievement and graduation in high school and college, and bolstering the city’s workforce, the Ontario City Council recently established the Ontario Promise. Unlike many College Promise programs throughout the nation, the Ontario Promise allows the program’s recipients to apply their funds to any community college in the state of California.

The scholarship program will provide up to two consecutive years of tuition for students who do not already qualify for the California Community Colleges Board of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver Program. Students must enroll within six months of graduation from high school. To achieve this program, the City of Ontario partnered with the Ontario-Montclair Promise Scholars program.
