The Nevada Promise Scholarship is a “last-dollar” scholarship program that will cover the gap between community college tuition and all other federal and state aid for Nevada students. Each community college in the system determines whether it will participate in the program. There’s no minimum GPA or SAT score to receive the scholarship and students of every income level can receive it. The program covers remedial coursework, creates a mentoring program to advise scholarship participants, and requires students complete at least 20 hours of community service before the May 1st immediately preceding the school year for which the student wishes to receive the scholarship. The above information is taken from the Program’s website.
