Jacksonville Promise is a place-based scholarship program dedicated to ensuring every graduate of District 117 in Illinois who qualifies for college (and elects to attend a local college) gets financial support equal to a Pell grant. After several years of planning and deliberation, the group decided to start with 10 scholarships that will be awarded in April of 2016 in an amount equal to a Pell Grant, $5,775. The above information is taken from the Program’s website.
