Free City is free tuition to City College for students who are San Francisco residents and have lived in California for more than a year as of the first day of the current term. Free City is a partnership between the City College of San Francisco and the City & County of San Francisco, funded by the voters of San Francisco. The city will pay $5.4 million a year to buy out the $46-a-credit fee usually paid by students. The city’s contribution will also provide $250 a semester to full-time, low-income students who already receive a state-funded fee waiver. The above information is taken from the Program’s website.
