The College Bound Scholarship (CBS) program is an early commitment of state financial aid to eligible students who sign up in middle school and fulfill the scholarship pledge. Focusing efforts on promoting college attainment with at-risk students early on, the College Bound Scholarship targets 7th and 8th graders who meet one of the following eligibility criteria: During 7th or 8th grade, household income from all sources (taxable and nontaxable) is less than or equal to the amounts in the chart, student is currently in foster care or a dependent of the state, or the student’s family receives basic food/TANF benefits. CBS will combine with other state financial aid to cover tuition (at comparable public college rates), some fees, and a small book allowance.
