Drawing on inspiration from the well-established Long Beach Promise, the newly announced Cerritos Complete program is designed as a way for students to successfully transition from high school to higher education. Cerritos College’s program serves a large pool of students, with participation from the ABC, Bellflower, Downey, Norwalk-La Mirada, and Paramount unified school districts. In order to participate in the Cerritos Complete program, students are required to be actively involved in planning a course of study. This plan will help guide students to attain a two year degree or certificate, or prepare for successful transfer to a four year college of university. In addition, participants must complete a FAFSA, attend a Summer Connections class to prepare for college, devise a two-year education plan with a Cerritos College counselor and finish the required math and English courses during their first year on the campus. The District will cover the cost of tuition or books (depending on individual student need) for approximately 800 new Cerritos College students. The above information is taken from the Program’s website.
